Instrumental music program
The Arncliffe Public School Instrumental Music Program is run by a sub-committee of the P&C Association and is not-for-profit initiative, supported by the school.
We are a small group of volunteer parents who co-ordinate rehearsals, instrument hire, tutors, performances and fundraising.
Our motto, “It’s fun and it’s for everyone” guides our philosophical approach to keeping costs down to make music accessible to as many students as possible.
Countless studies have found links between learning music and a broad range of positive impacts on children.
“I would teach children music, physics and philosophy; but more importantly music; for in the patterns of music and all the arts, are the keys to learning.” – Plato
Learning music can help students’ self-confidence, self-discipline and team work.
- Music helps students progress in other important learning areas such as Maths and English.
- Music can improve cognitive function, help us learn language AND help our brains be healthier into later life.
- Unfortunately, most Australian children are missing out on the many benefits of music education in school. As few as 23% of State schools are able to provide their students an effective education.
At Arncliffe Public School we are fortunate to offer our students a full range of musical opportunity. To find out more about our ensembles and how to join please email: arncliffemusic@gmail.com
2020 Let's Get Locked Down and Loud
In 2020, our music groups could not perform their usual "Let's Get Loud" biennial concert as a result of the COVID lockdowns and restrictions. However they were able to put together an online showcase which we are so proud of.
